Porto, Portugal
In 2008 I travelled to Spain, Portugal and France. Porto was on of
my favourite place.
Any idea what is one of our
oldest acholic drinks that we have all enjoyed over the years has to do with
this city? Yes you got it Port. Its the home town for Port. The English call the city Oporto.
Porto is the second largest city in Portugal behind the capital Lisbon.
Located along the Douro River,
Porto is one of the oldest world cities. It history is rich with loads of
beautiful Baroque architecture.
A must do while you are there is to travel down the Douro River on
a boat cruise. The oldest vineyards are planted on steep slopes
and traditional terraces supported by dry stone walls, along the hills of the
Douro River.
Over the last years, Porto has
been experiencing an important touristic expansion, Porto
won the European Best Destination 2012, 2014 and 2017 awards. Porto has
turned into a world renowned for cultural events, you will easily find English
speaking people.
What ever you do when you in Porto, you have to try one... no it wont be one, of these Portugesse Custard Tarts, they are to die for. Nothing like what we have here in Australia.

Porto average temperature in
August is 25 deg.
There is lots to see and do in this city, one in which you will want to come back to again and again.
